We are Little Acres

The passion project of Rachel Lightbody, Cariss Crosbie, and Emilie Boyd. Our love of harmonies, subtlety, beautiful music, and the crunch brought us together - and it’s been a union of three kindred musical souls. After years of singing together and honing our unique blend, we have developed a psychic synchronicity that makes singing together a joy to do and, we hope, to listen to.

In high demand, as individuals and as a trio, we’ve performed with a roster of artists including; Corinne Bailey Rae, Natasha Bedingfield, Rachel Sermanni, Siobhan Miller, Admiral Fallow, Kathryn Joseph, Rebecca Vasmant, Tom McGuire and the Brassholes, Adam Holmes, Fat-Suit, Kris Drever and Lewis Capaldi. We’ve been championed across BBC Radio Scotland including on The Afternoon Show, The Quay Sessions with Roddy Hart, the Iain Anderson Show and The Jazz Show with Seonaid Aitken

— Roddy Hart
Little Acres are that very rare and precious thing - equal parts genius level talent and beautiful brilliant humans. Getting to work with them was one of my favourite times ever because not only were they able to turn my tricky noise into extreme beauty because of theirs they are also amazing humans to be around and their beautiful love of making music happen bleeds into everyone around them and makes others feel better.
The noise they make is very special and rare...We all need the kind of magical beauty they give and especially right now when the world feels hard to be in. I am so glad and lucky to know and love them and very grateful the beautiful sound they make exists.
— Kathryn Joseph
“She [Rachel Sermanni] was joined for the set by an angelic voiced trio of support singers in Rachel Lightbody, Cariss Crosbie and Emilie Boyd of Little Acres...”
— The Highway Queens, (Aug 2019)
Little Acres are some of the most talented musicians I’ve ever had the good fortune to work with. No one is doing what Little Acres do quite so magically, and that’s evident in the number of quality artists across the Scottish music scene who are clamouring to work with them.
— Pedro Cameron, Man of the Minch
“The voices of the three singers were transcendent, expanding the confined space...”
— Rowan Smith, ‘Ok Tromboner’, LydMag (Jan 2019)
We have worked many times with Little Acres in both live and studio settings over the years, and they are our first port of call as backing vocalists. They are Glasgow’s resident BV dream team for a reason - always meticulously prepared, punctual and professional, and they approach all of their engagements with a sensitivity and attention to detail that ensures their contribution enhances the project immeasurably. They have both the chops to execute highly specific parts and the creativity to come up with their own bespoke arrangements depending on the needs of the project.
— Dorian Cloudsley, Fat-Suit
Little Acres are a super-pro vocal outfit who have supported us flawlessly every time we have been fortunate enough to have them. It has always been a great pleasure to work with and hang out with them, they bring the goods on and off stage!
— Tom McGuire, Tom McGuire and the Brassholes
Little Acres are three of the most talented women i have ever had the pleasure of working with and are true professionals! Always bringing the sass, sparkle and shine to performances no matter where or who with! An absolutely fabulous trio!
— Kitti
Without hyperbole, Little Acres is easily the best vocal group I’ve had the fortune to see live let alone work alongside. Effortlessly professional and a joy to perform with.
